CHARLIE is a Smart Electronic Monitoring App designed to help Substance Use Disorder Treatment Facilities monitor patients’ recovery progress, reduce relapse rates, and capture re-admissions should relapse occur.
CHARLIE data monitored daily and generated weekly for our clients by the Care Team, which consists of a LADC II, CPRS, and Data Analyst. CHARLIE was created by and is owned by a Recovering Alcoholic and Veteran.

What is “CHARLIE”?
The development of CHARLIE was inspired by the Gorski-CENAPS Model
CHARLIE functions like a high-end, yet easy to use monitoring device to track patients’ recovery process and enable Treatment facility to take prompt action if projected relapse or actual relapse occur
Visibility into patient’s mental state via digital monitoring can dramatically improve prediction of full-blown relapses and detect if/when relapse occurs
CHARLIE uses rolling weekly data collected from answers to Likert-scaled questions as well as biometric data (i.e., BP and Heart Rate via FDA-cleared wireless cuff). These data are placed into proprietary algorithms to stratify subgroups of patients showing greatest probability of impending relapse

COST vs. BENEFIT
Highly Cost-Effective
We assist patients with the education of complying with their personal CHARLIE accounts, we provide constant monitoring data to treatment facilities and alert them if patient has acknowledged relapse and wants help; the cost is $45 per patient per month to be paid by Treatment Facility.
Within reason, certain CHARLIE modules can be customized for the needs or desires of any SUD Treatment Center (i.e., different and/or additional Likert-scaled questions in the patient’s daily check-in).
Should the Treatment Facility desire to outsource primary substance use disorder counseling to the Charlie Care Team post-discharge, we can most certainly provide those services; there would of course be an additional cost per patient per month.
Potential ROI
ROI = capturing potential re-admissions of patient if relapse is detected. Also, Treatment Facilities can measure longer-term (180 days+) patient outcomes to illustrate to payers during contract negotiations
